Ballez Academy is a Youth Baseball Training and Development Organization serving families in Alameda and the greater Bay Area. We provide year-round development through group training classes, private training, and competitive travel ball teams. We help young athletes bulid confidence, discpline, and love for the game.

We feature Two Batting Cages with Hack Attack Jr. pitching machines for consistent game-speed reps, along with HitTrax technology to track real-time hitting data and analyze performance.

We're also proud to feature our Private Learning Center, where you can break down game footage, review mechanics, study with your coaches, or complete homework before training.

Ballerz Academy Founder & Head Coach

Mike Coker

Mike Coker has spent over 20 years training and coaching baseball and softball athletes, working with players from T-ball through 18U travel ball. Born and raised in Alameda, Mike grew up in the city’s youth baseball system, from Little League to Babe Ruth, earning numerous awards throughout his playing career.

He attended Saint Joseph Notre Dame and Alameda High, where he played varsity baseball, before continuing at Laney College, where multiple MLB teams scouted him. His deep roots in Alameda baseball, both as a player and a coach, have made him a trusted mentor in the community.

Mike founded Ballerz Academy to create more than just a place to train. He wanted to build a space where athletes can develop discipline, confidence, and a love for the game. He believes families deserve a program that prioritizes development over politics, opportunity over limits, and a true sense of community. For Mike, Ballerz is about shaping better players and better people, both on and off the field.

Ready to take your game to the next level?

Utilize your skills gained at Ballerz Academy on the diamond by playing for a Ballerz Tournament Baseball team. For the 2025 Summer and Fall Tournaments, we will have teams for 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U divisions.

12 Players max per team
2 Practices per week (1 Field practice, 1 Indoor hitting practice)
Up to 2 tournaments per month
For serious, committed players & coaches only.
At least 1 non-dad coach per team
